This survey of average payment and auto-ID salaries is based on combined research from three different private sector sources and the UK government salary census. At the time of writing this report (January 2008), we only have salary indications for the UK. In future, we plan to include figures for other European countries, the U.S. and Asia Pacific regions for comparisons to be made.
Certain salary levels depend very much on the level of seniority within an organisation and turnover. There are also significant size bands for certain roles. A business development role will vary between £28,000 and £55,000 average basic remuneration, plus commission, bonus and a company car allowance.

During 2007, the average pay increases in the London and South East was 4.3% compared to 3.2% in other parts of the country. Fringe benefits include pension plans, company cars and allowance, annual holidays, overtime, private medical insurance, unemployment insurance due to illness and/or accident and time off in lieu.
The choice of fringe benefits should be considered by both candidates and organisations advertising for staff. Candidates are increasingly placing more weight on the total benefit package, rather than just the level of basic salary.
