Canon launches new terminals

Canon is introducing two completely open ruggedized ‘All-in-One' POS terminals in Europe: the ergonomic workhorse Canon Handy Terminal GT-10 and the hardworking slimliner, Canon Handy Terminal GT-1W.

Openness is the keyword for both terminals. Based on Microsoft Windows CE5.0 operating system they are born to comply with any conceivable application of Canon Handy Terminal Solution's customers or partners. They will perform equally efficiently whether they are used as POS payment terminals or in industry with heavy-duty registration or calculation jobs.

A distinct advantage of both GT-10 and GT-1W is that they are never alone whenever cooperation is required. Cooperation can routinely take place through Bluetooth, WiFi, infrared or - following special preparation - GPRS.

The 24 large ergonomically correct controls are placed at such a distance from each other that they are easy to use. Input and output are presented on a large, brilliantly clear screen that takes up about half of the surface of the two terminals.

As standard, the Canon GT-10 terminal is equipped with a fast 80mm wide 26 l/sec printer which writes numbers, characters and any figures the user might define and need. The terminals can be adapted to run almost any mobile application; their hardware can also be adjusted to nearly any application. Optional scanner and magnetic strip and barcode reader improve the area of application of the two terminals.
